As our Dutch language lesson (lecture proper) ends today, I wish to give due recognition to one of the most articulate and strategic professors I’ve ever had in my countless years of learning in the Academe. He has mastered the art of simplifying complex grammar & sentence structures as well as teaching people to speak from zero knowledge to a considerable amount of conversational level in Dutch as a Foreign Language to countless Filipinos who are about to reside in Netherlands. I am very well honored to have learned from one of the best in this land. You are an inspiration and you changed people’s lives significantly. Language indeed is power.
Thank you very much to our great teacher Meneer Rob for all the help. If not because of you I would not have learned and understand the words in Dutch. I am so proud that I came from your school and even to the Dutch embassy you can hear a good feedback about you . When they asked me to where I studied, and I said from Mr. Rob, they say oh… don’t worry you will pass because you have a great teacher. It was a relief on my side because at that time I felt nervous. I would also like to thank Mevrouw Marissa, thank you so much also for all the advice. You have been so helpful to all students.
Toen ik begon mijn lessen op deze school met te weinig Nederlands woorden in mijn hooft. Ik weet alleen “goedemorgen, goedemiddag, goedenavond” “ik hou van je”, “ik ga naar boven, beneden, buiten of binnen” daarna heb ik geen idee wat te seggen. Nu ben ik beter. Kijk, ik schreef dit zinnen. Ik begrijp ook mijn man als hij met zijn moeder Nederlands spreekt. Ik weet dit ook omdat mijn man heeft mee geholpen. En natuurlijk… Hartelijk bedankt leraar Rob Stevens voor de lessen en het geduld! En mevrouw Marisa voor de adviezen. Ik heb veel geleerd! (Still not so sure if all those are correct) I will miss going to school everyday.
I am super proud to be one of Meneer Rob Stevens students, I am very grateful that I made to pass the “Inburgerings Examen” thru his help in learning us the language, for a beginner it is not that easy but he made sure we will understand every word he teaches us and as much as possible we can use it in sentences.
